Whip Cream Salad

Ingredients

For the Base:

  • 2 packages (3 oz each) lemon Jello
  • 4 c water
  • 2 sliced bananas
  • 100 miniature marshmallows
  • 1 can crushed pineapple, drained

For the Topping:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 c pineapple juice
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 1 c Cool Whip

Directions

  1. Prepare the Jello base:
    1. Cook Jello with water according to package directions and let it set slightly
    2. Add the bananas, marshmallows, and drained crushed pineapple
    3. Spread mixture in a 13 x 9 inch pan and let set
  2. Make the topping:
    1. In a saucepan, combine egg, pineapple juice, flour, and sugar
    2. Cook mixture until it thickens
    3. Just before removing from heat, add butter
    4. Let the custard cool completely
    5. Blend in Cool Whip
    6. Spread over the set Jello layer
  3. Chill before serving
