Gold Bars
Ingredients
- 1 package German chocolate cake mix
- ⅓ c evaporated milk
- ¾ c butter, melted
- 20 caramels
- ⅓ c evaporated milk (additional)
- 1 c chocolate chips
Directions
- Mix cake mix, ⅓ c evaporated milk, and melted butter together.
- Spread half of this mixture into a greased 13 x 9 inch pan.
- Bake at 350 ℉ for 10 minutes.
- While the first layer bakes, cook caramels with the remaining ⅓ c evaporated milk in the microwave for 1–3 minutes, stirring every minute until smooth.
- Once the first layer is done, pour the caramel mixture over the baked cake layer.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the caramel layer.
- Spread the remaining cake mixture on top.
- Bake at 350 ℉ for an additional 15–20 minutes.
